We had very little time to prepare our trip to Egypt, so we opted for an agency, the TERRA TRIPS agency. Opened in 1963, Mauritania’s Train du Desert, is one of the longest trains in the world. The train operates a daily service from the port at Nouadhibou on the Atlantic coast to the iron ore mines in Zouerat in the country’s north-west. Special mention to our two guides Ali and Mostafa who are truly passionate about their country and who take us on most of the visits out of sync with the big cruise ships. The visit to Abu Simbel in particular was done almost alone.We were also treated to some very personalized excursions as close as possible to the daily lives of Egyptians.Note that our drivers demonstrated relatively safe driving, which contrasts with the frenetic traffic of Cairo.We will not hesitate for a single moment to contact Amro again for a second trip to Egypt.

A short camel ride is included in this tour and there is the option to add a second ride and feed the camels yourself. You are also invited to partake in a spread of cultural activities including henna painting, meeting the resident falcons, and watching a traditional dance performance. 

Pick-up from Dubai hotels is included and will be in a shared, air-conditioned vehicle (unless booked otherwise). We can pick you up from the nearest hotel if you live in a private residence unless a private car is booked.
